...and a song :-D
I love trees and fall colors they work so well together.
Using the Nikon 85MM F/1.8G prime lens and Nikon D810 shows the detailed results. Amazing, clean.

Galactic Trees
Recently I held a Milky Way photography workshop at the end of the coast of Maine, we were hoping to shoot at the coast with dramatic cliffs and a lighthouse, and while we did get to do some of that we were a bit challenged by fog right on the coast each night, but usually just a couple miles north of the coast it would be crystal clear. So we explored some other areas and found some really nice spots that we would have never shot at if it was clear at the coast. It was a lot of fun to try shooting something very different than what I normally shoot, and in this case we had quite a bit of ambient light and light pollution from nearby buildings, but the glow on the trees and in the air ended up adding some very interesting atmosphere to the image.
This is a blend of 5 images for the sky and 1 image for the foreground. Normally I try to shoot 10 images for the sky but fog was rolling in as I was shooting my star images so I only got 5 clear ones. The sky images were shot at ISO 10,000, f/2.8, for 10 seconds each, and then stacked and averaged in Starry Landscape Stacker on Mac for pinpoint stars and lower noise (lower noise and shaper pinpoint stars than you could achieve with a single exposure). The foreground is from a single shot at 2 minutes and ISO 6400 at f/2.8. I would normally have done a lower ISO foreground shot for a longer exposure time but we were all getting pretty tired by this point in the night, so I cut the time down. All shots were taken with my Nikon D810A with Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 lens at 14mm. The final image is cropped in a bit to isolate the trees and sky better.

Tree sparrow (Passer montanus) perched on a common yew (Taxus baccata) tree branch.
Mazurek (passer montanus) siedzący na gałązce cisu pospolitego (Taxus baccata).
I shot this Burrowing Owl up in a tree. I went back this morning just as the Sun was coming up it was really overcast. I stood in one place and counted 17 of the little fellows there were still a couple of burrows that I couldn't see as well as ones in the trees and on fences. if I couldn't see them when I did that count I didn't include them. It was amazing seeing them.
because there aren't many people that go to this particular place they are really skittish as compared to going to Brian Piccolo

Easter Saturday was even warmer, and I walked down to Hambleden Weir to take some photos. I liked the reflections of the trees in the river
This is one of my "nature in the city" shots: this site is in Prince's Island Park, an island in the Bow River in central Calgary, on the north edge of the downtown core.
At lower right is a good example of where a beaver (Castor canadensis) has gnawed through a tree and toppled it, leaving a halo of scattered wood chips around the trunk. Teeth marks (parallel linear gnawing marks) are visible on the light-toned wood surface of the chewed-through tree stump and trunk.
Other beaver-toppled trees are visible in the upper left area in this riverside (riparian) forest of poplar trees, shown in late autumn. In the upper left corner of this photo, the main channel of the Bow River is visible, with a footbridge above it.

A tree at a corner of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain. With the stone wall and the sun this scene somehow grabbed me and literally my focus.
There are 6 trees in Portugal that are known to be 2000 years old, The oldest, an olive tree, is not far from Tavira, Planted in Roman times, they have a plethora of stories they could tell if only they could speak. This olive tree is a mere youngster at only 400 years old. It stands by Igreja de Santa Maria do Castelo

Thought it was Oak but must check again as it is not the usual Oak bark.

After my mother died I had a discussion with a friend about how to visually depict sorrow. The next day I made this.
